  I watched part of the Sunday convention on youtube.

  What I got out of it:

  Do not let feelings get in your way. Meaning - Even if family members are suffering, someone has a good point about children suffering from pedophiles, shares a story of injustice from one of the members - don't let your feelings sway you.

  Use the glasses the WT gives you (by reading their publications) so that your perception is correct. No feelings, use your brain. Your brain on drugs WT teachings that is.

  All prophesies have been fulfilled. Except of course "the End" They didn't clarify what was a part of the End tho. Is there still Peace and Security to be called? Probably most witnesses will assume it just is the tribulation that is left.

  They used the speaker to pound home that 1975 was our fault and not theirs. And that he was glad to have wasted spent his time pioneering out of high school and had his house sold like so many others. Whether that was true or not in his case, I wonder how he had felt about being used as an example on stage. Oh wait, that would have meant he felt something. My bad. He had his Glasses of Perception on!

  i cant believe what i'm hearing... actually, nothing surprises be about this cult anymore.. didn't they say to the judge in the arc that they dont discourage college?.

  One of the last Sunday talks I went to, was from a young Elder that I had babysat when he was a kid. He had always given imaginative talks before with some humor. The regular speaker hadn't shown up, so he prepared a fill in talk.

  As he stood at the podium, his face was already dark and angry. It was about college. Of course, Korah the rebel was brought up and as he spoke, his words were grating and harsh. After all was said and done with these illustrations and examples, this is what he concluded with.

  There are pages and pages of warnings by the GB about why we shouldn't go to college, but some people point to one paragraph that says "it's up to your conscience" as an excuse to ignore all the counsel.

  So you see, it isn't up to your conscience, it is just what the GB says. It was a sad day for me to realize that this bright young man, had been twisted into such a person. But then, I would have accepted such counsel just a year before.

  Well I'm not baptized tho many thought I was. Now we (the black sheep of the JW family who aren't going to meetings because we now know it isn't the truth) are helping my non Jw dad and JW mom clean up their property or they lose their house. She just went to the assembly and has switched back to the curt, short answers she had at the begining of the cleanup. Aww the rub is, we are the ones mainly doing the work. One JW sister is moderately helping, the other refuses because "they cleaned the front 3 years ago and they won't enter the house because it is too bad." But they and their spouse, are willing to let mom and dad live there.

  So what is going to happen after we save the house? Probably she will turn self rightheous. Thanks Mom!

  i honestly thought it a load of bs until i checked out one glaringly obvious image of a creepy skull in clouds within the knowledge book.

  i was shocked and even showed my wife at the time who thought it was creepy.. so my question is why?

  From the February 2017 wt. The middle panel has Eve with her eyes closed, mouth open to eat the fruit. The fruit has the snake in the background crossing it and curling back towards Eve's face. I couldn't believe it when I saw it. It is highly suggestive.

  This was in a 2014 1/15 wt. It is either the workup for this picture, or edited. But you can see it is the same throne shape and I think all of the lines are above his head. Still looking for the main article.

  

  Wow, they like to reuse these things over and over. This is the 2017 wt. Maybe they realized there was a problem with the angels...

  SV - Sorry I can't remember the exact WT. But I did send it in an email 12-2-2016. So sometime before that. And as you see in the first picture, it is very light so you have to darken it or intensify the colors. I like seeing how the artist has a lot of details that got washed out by the pastel approach of the WT. Like, can you really see the rays going past the head in the light version? Not really.

  I looked at the 4 horsemen picture but that one is bereft of any hidden/add pictures. Hahaha maybe the WT ferrets out the artists that play around like that. Wonder what the punishment is?

  By the way, doesn't it look like Abe Lincoln's statue? And what are those projections in the back of the throne? Extra plasma vents?

  No, not those. It's newer. It goes across two pages. The angels are small at the left and get bigger as they go to the right. Like a wave on the beach. The throne is large on the right side with greens and blues. And I guess it supposed to be god on the throne because it is the crystal one

  Hello, as an artist I don't purposely put in subliminals. But I do notice (sometimes) when a piece of art has something going on. Maybe the artist didn't like what they originally had or wanted something to work in the background. So it draws my attention.

  This has happened in a few pictures I've seen in the WT publications. It is unfortunate that my Mac is down because the pictures are on it and I have to use a crappy dell computer right now. Just a few of the pictures that I found recently are:

  A picture of Jehovah/jesus on a throne in the sky. A long row of angels from left to right. Behind the throne were several angels. It was this area that drew my eye. If you have a program like Photoshop or Photoshop elements, you can use "Levels" to darken and intensify the colors. Most WT pictures these days, are very light in saturation of color so if you intensify it, you can see detail that was washed out before. Well at first I thought that the artist had copied another section of the angels to save time and over lapped them. Because there was something showing up. But nothing in the rest of the picture had the same pattern or texture. To cut to the chase, one angel had a suspicious lump in his crotch area and the angel next to him, had his gaze fixated there with a rather leering smile on his face. Was this WT's doing? Probably not. Just an adolescent mindset getting away with something naughty.

  On an Awake magazine, there was a burning cigarette/cigar on the cover. Kim and Mikey were all excited over some phallic reference but they missed the main image. Smoke just doesn't look like how it was drawn on the cover. No matter how I traced out the swirls, they didn't make any sense. Sure, the artist could just be winging it but I gave it a try on photoshop. When you get done defining it, there are two distinct figures in the smoke. One had a different color tinge so they became separate. It is then easy to see the backside of a woman (naked of course) intertwined with a mans body. This one is more sophisticated than the one above. Is it a prank by an artist who knows about the tobacco industries love of sex/death for their advertising - or is it on purpose by the WT?

  It seems to me, that the more a company wants to be super clean and squeaky - ie WT, Disney, the more some artists want to prank them with something naughty. I don't leave out the possibility that WT does have some underhanded stuff going on, but I think the majority is rebellious artists.
